Trans-Jordan Cities operates the Trans-Jordan Landfill, located in the southwestern area of Salt Lake County and serves the citizens of Draper, Midvale, Murray, Sandy, South Jordan, Riverton, and West Jordan Cities. We are seeking a qualified junior engineer for a summer internship, to be based at our offices in South Jordan, Utah.

Candidates should be self motivated, bright, and currently majoring in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a minimum of two years completed toward a degree. Candidates must have some knowledge of personal computers, AutoCAD, good writing skills, a desire to work in the field to inspect construction projects, and a love for seagulls.

Projects to be worked on:

Prepare specs, issue contract, and inspect construction for Cell 5 Liner Project
Survey Gas Collection System for possible settling
Fence height extension project
Design wash bay with associated oil water separator
Bid out garbage bagger for greenwaste screen
Shop lighting optimization study
Update as built drawings on AutoCAD 2006
GPS System - update facilities maps
Program GPS system to calculate densities
