College Lecture - Honored Alumnus, Richard Brown
The 2014 honored alumnus lecture will be given by Richard B. Brown, dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Utah.
Dr. RIchard B. Brown earned BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from BYU. After designing computers, peripherals and analog-to-digital converters in industry for six years, he returned to school at the University of Utah, where he earned an electrical engineering Ph.D. degree in solid-state electronics. His dissertation research produced one of the first smart sensors, an array of miniature ion-selective electrodes with integrated electronics. Dr. Brown has 17 patents and has authored more than 225 peer-reviewed publications. In 2004, he was appointed dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Utah.
